A Nevada woman has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting a child and distributing explicit material, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Utah.

Alexandria Marie Wright, 32, from Moapa, Nevada, pleaded guilty in June 2025 to producing child pornography. On January 28, 2026, U.S. District Court Judge Ann Marie McIff Allen sentenced Wright to 300 months’ imprisonment and a lifetime of supervised release.

Court documents and statements from Wright’s plea and sentencing hearings revealed that she began exchanging sexual messages and media with a co-conspirator starting on an unknown date through October 31, 2021. In the fall of 2021, Wright met her co-conspirator in person after communicating online. They discussed abusing a child known to Wright. On October 31, Wright brought a four-year-old victim to her co-conspirator. Together they abused the child while recording the act.

The investigation began after the co-conspirator was arrested on August 7, 2024 in Kansas. Authorities recovered sexually explicit images of the child during this arrest, which led to charges against Wright.

“These unthinkable acts will not go unanswered,” said U.S. Attorney Melissa Holyoak of the District of Utah. “Child predators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. It is our hope that the victim and the victim’s family can move forward knowing justice is served against Wright and that she is removed from society and away from preying on other children.”

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Lola Police Department in Kansas conducted the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Christopher Burton prosecuted the case.

This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative by the Department of Justice started in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation by coordinating efforts among federal, state, and local agencies.
