A man from St. George, Utah, Jaycee Stewart, 33, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for charges related to the receipt of child sexual abuse materials. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Ann Marie McIff Allen following Stewart’s guilty plea on November 4, 2024. In addition to his prison term, Stewart will face a lifetime of supervised release and is required to pay restitution to his victims.
Court documents reveal that on April 12, 2023, an elementary school child reported being sexually abused by Stewart. The child mentioned that Stewart possessed inappropriate images of children and used items during the abuse. A search of Stewart’s home uncovered numerous images of child sexual abuse displayed on walls and stored in various locations including binders and a digital frame with approximately 22,000 images.
Stewart had previously been convicted in Utah state court for possession of child pornography in 2015. He has also admitted guilt in the sexual abuse of two additional victims and awaits sentencing in state court for these offenses.
The investigation was conducted by the St. George Police Department, while Assistant United States Attorney Christopher Burton prosecuted the case.
This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project coordinates federal, state, and local efforts to apprehend individuals exploiting children online and rescue victims.
