The Utah Judiciary announced on March 24 that it will host a Court Connect town hall for residents of Duchesne, Uintah, and Daggett counties on Monday, March 30, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Union High School in Roosevelt.

Court Connect is a statewide initiative designed to strengthen public trust in the courts and improve access to justice. The event is free and open to the public, providing an opportunity for community members to engage directly with representatives from the Judiciary in an informal setting.

During the town hall, attendees can learn about the role of Utah’s courts within the justice system, ask questions of Judiciary representatives, discover available self-help resources and online filing systems, and meet judges and court personnel. Organizers say these events are intended as a first step toward ongoing engagement between the public and the court system.

The Utah State Courts feature justices serving renewable ten-year terms according to the official website. The court system also maintains facilities across eight judicial districts throughout Utah per its official website, comprising two appellate courts as well as trial courts across those districts as outlined on its website.

The Supreme Court is led by five justices who elect a chief justice among themselves to oversee operations as per its official site. The Utah State Courts aim to deliver an open, fair and efficient justice system while enhancing community understanding through educational resources and initiatives according to information provided by the courts.

Organizers encourage individual community members as well as civic organizations interested in learning more about Utah’s Judiciary or accessing court services to attend.
